FAQ

Have a question? Maybe we’ve had it asked of us before. Here are some sample questions (and answers) that might help you along the way.

How do I get started with 3T Pro?

Start with an email or phone call. A face-to-face meeting is always best, but, if you can or are so inclined, provide us a description of your current systems and your long-term business goals, either over the phone or in an email. We want to get to know you as well as your issues, so that we can provide the best, long-term solution.

Once I hire you, what are the next steps?
After we have the initial introductions and ideas finished, we will move on to defining, in detail, your current and forecasted needs. A project manager or account manager will be assigned and, if we are doing more than a single project, they will become your day-to-day contact.
What are your typical fees?
While we use hourly and daily rates for our services, we typically bid and price projects and programs individually. Our goal is to customize your solution as much as possible in order to maximize its effectiveness.
Can I just hire you as an hourly consultant?
You certainly may. Our services are scalable and we are able to fit your needs based on the project scope, your schedule and your budget.
If I already have an IT partner, how does that work?
We understand that relationships are important. If you have a partner who is performing one aspect of your IT program well, then we are happy to collaborate with them at your direction. However, we do prefer to be the sole-source for a company’s IT solution.
Who in my organization should be your contact?
The person having the day-to-day responsibility for your IT services and strategy should be our day-to-day contact. However, anyone responsible for your IT strategy should be aware of and involved as needed.
Who in your company will be our contact?
Once our relationship is contractually set, a project manager or account manager will be assigned to you. However, your sales person and our company executives are always available for consultation at any time under appropriate circumstances.
What’s the best way to reach you (phone, email, text)?
Initial contact should be made by phone or email. Once we are doing business on a regular basis, your 3TPro daily contact will work with you with whichever communication fits your business culture.
Do we need to execute a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?
The short answer is yes, given that we will have access to your company’s data. We will abide by whatever your legal and business counsel suggests.
What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing is a way to enable ubiquitous access to shared pools of configurable resources, including computer networks, servers, storage, applications and services rapidly usually over the internet. It is a way for companies to avoid or minimize up-front IT infrastructure costs and allow for safer implementation of IT services.

We offer CloudConnect, a comprehensive cloud infrastructure and desktop-as-a-service program.

Isn’t that off-site backup?
The cloud is a part of a back up strategy. While all systems should be backed up, off-site back up can be done without the cloud. However, cloud computing allows for more than backing up your data—it also backups your entire IT infrastructure from applications to networks to servers as well as storage.
What are managed services?
A managed service, when you are talking about IT services, is the practice of outsourcing the basic management of a company’s computing needs. By putting a professional services provider in charge of your IT infrastructure, operations can be improved and run more efficiently, including from a cost standpoint.
What do you mean by “business continuity?”
We use the term “business continuity,” as a way to let our clients know that any sort of IT or system failure or outage will not disrupt their day-to-day business. We work behind the scenes, managing your systems even when there is a problem. Our goal is to make any problem opaque to you and your users.
Do you host websites?
Yes, we do. We have a variety of plans that are scalable for the size and needs of your enterprise. We offer:

  • Monthly service and storage plans
  • 24/7 support either live or via web or email
  • Domain or transfer help
  • Industry standard firewalls
  • 99% network uptime
  • A variety of programming and scripting features
What is a hosted exchange?
A hosted exchange is a way to provide email services to clients who don’t want to have to pay for a full server license. It is a cost-effective option for smaller companies to have email services without the entire IT infrastructure. Services are offered for a monthly or annual fee.
What kind of certifications do you hold?
Our engineers and technicians are professionally certified and trained in some or all of the following:

  • Microsoft Certified
    • Professional
    • Systems Engineer
    • Systems Administrator
    • Systems Administrator, Networking
  • Cisco
  • Dell
  • Apple
  • Hewlett Packard (HP)
What do you mean by vendor management?
Managing vendors of IT and related services can be challenging. We offer to help organize and optimize your service offerings from these vendors by being their single point of contact and your liaison to them. This saves you time and money and ensures business continuity by allowing you to focus on what you do best—run your business.
Do you sell computers?
Yes. We are an authorized dealer for Lenovo and Hewlett Packard. We offer:

  • Workstations
  • Monitors
  • Servers
  • Laptops
  • Desktop units
